About Us

Working as team Debi Becker and Carole Thompson have been trained in five
different systems. They are in constant search of more knowledge in TR. Their
training began with the YUKO SYSTEM. Being certified in BIO IONICS and
having training in other Japanese systems. They more recently have been trained in the American versions of TR. Debi and Carole want to be able to address all types of hair with the best possible results. The more knowledge you have the better results you will achieve. These hair designers are getting amazing results.Debi Becker has been doing hair for over twenty-five years. Specializing in chemicals. Carole Thompson has been doing hair for over sixteen years.

Debi believes in keeping the hair healthy and shiny. With the new innovative
process of THERMAL RECONDITIONING (TR) the hair is silky, has shine and
the curl does not return." I was so excited when I learned this process finally
something that leaves the hair permantly straight and so healthy Debi has trained
with Sassoon, Paul Mitchell, John and Suzanne Chadwick, Matrix, Crew.ISO,
Redken, Abba, and Farouk.Specializing in color perms and straightening, Debi
understands how the action and interaction of each of these processes affect the
hair and interact with each other.

Carole loves the feel of the hair. Carole has been trained with Redden, Matrix,
TiGi, ISO, Scruples, Joico, and Farouk. With a color correction, permanent waves,
and straightening background she loves her work. Carole got involved with TR
for the versalitility it offers the clients. The hair is shinny, soft, and manageable
it is life changing. We used to be so limited with straightening; now anything is
possible to remove some curl or all of the curl, its wonderful.

Some of our clients have struggled with the blow dryer and flat iron for an hour
or longer just to have the curl and frizz return after a few hours or less.
They no longer have to worry that if it humid or moisture is in the air their hair
will frizz again. Husbands and boyfriends no longer have to wait for hours
before going out. Swimming and walks along the beach are known possible
without the worry about how the hair will look. You can even bath the kids
without worrying about your hair. Spontaneous outing are even a possibility.
No more being ruled by your hair!

Thermal reconditioning can be used
On most hair types it just depends on the condition of the hair.

Q: What is Thermal Reconditioning?
A:
Thermal Reconditioning is an innovative new technique from Japan to make frizzy,
curly or wavy hair straight while preserving the hair's health. Almost always, Thermal
Reconditioning will improve the hair's feel, softness and shine while making it completely
manageable!
Every system may differ slightly, we condition the hair, we protect the hair, we soften the
hair, we protect the hair again, we restructure the hair with the use of extremely hot or
ionic flat iron depending what system you are using, we seal the hair, lock it in its new
formation, we condition the hair again, and then the finish, blow dry light press with a flat
iron. Beautiful silky straight hair, permanent, of course until it grows out.

Q: How long will the Thermal Reconditioning treatment last?
A:
This will depend on how fast your hair grows, how curly your hair is, The hair that is
treated will remain straight, and you will need to do touch ups as the hair grows,
About five to ten months. Sometimes we can give a partial treatment on the part line
and hairline so the client may go longer between treatments.

Q: What kind of hair is suitable for Thermal Reconditioning?
A:
All Hair types
African Hair
Asian
Middle-Eastern
Norwegian
Caucasian

Q: What will my hair look like after the treatment?
A:
Your hair will be soft, silky, and manageable; you can run your fingers though.
Your hair will be in better condition.

Q: Will I still need to blow-dry my hair after the treatment?
A:
Some will have straight hair right from the shower, some will have to blow dry with
a paddle brush to get that sleek look. It just depends on your hair style and texture.
Blow drying is always recommended to achieve a desired style.
Do not go to bed with wet hair.

Q: When I get the new growth retreated, do they do all the hair again?
A:
No, just the new growth - although many stylists will pull the solution through the
already treated hair just before rinsing the solution out. This is O.K. for your hair.

Q: I have color in my hair, will that matter?
A:
Tints and semi-permanent hair color are not usually any problem at all.
Highlights can be very tricky to work with. When hair is highlighted, the hair is
Multitextured, The lightened hair is already chemically processed, and you will
have unprocessed hair right
next to it, so the hair right next to the highlighted hair may not be quite as straight
As the highlighted hair A prior consultation with your stylist is necessary to determine
if Thermal Reconditioning will be a good choice for you and your hair.

Q: What about bleach? Is this O.K.?
A:
Highlights often contain bleach so it is imperative you see your stylist before the
treatment. If you are at all nervous, we can do a test strand.

Q: What about Henna?
A:
A test strand should be performed to make sure of compatibility with Henna.

Q: How much does Thermal Reconditioning cost?
A:
Typically from $300-$500depending hair length, thickness, amount of chemical
Processing.

Q: Why does it cost so much?
A:
The process usually takes from 3 to 6 hours straight to perform. You may be able to
find this service for less, but beware, this is an extremely difficult treatment to perform
and those who charge less often are less competent. You can get a perm for $30 and
a haircut for $6. If this sounds like you, maybe finding the lowest price is worth the risk.

Q: Will I get any breakage as a result of a bad treatment?
A:
It is possible; you could get breakage from the service, although it almost never
happens with a trained and competent Hairstylist.
FYI - You certainly don't want to be part of a stylists "learning curve". Be sure to find out
how many treatments your stylist has performed and how long they have been doing it.

Q: When I go back for the re-growth, does it cost less?
A:
All the hair still has to be ironed and conditioned even though the solution is mainly
on the roots. Because the same amount of time is involved with the retouch, as the first
treatment. This would be considered on a per case basis.

Q: How many product companies are there for Thermal Reconditioning?
A:
Three main competitors Yuko Systems manufactured by Yuko Systems-Japan,
Liscio- manufactured by Milbon Co. and Bio Ionic- manufactured in the U.S. But,
many other companies are coming out with their products.

Q: What other names are used to describe Thermal Reconditioning?
A:
Japanese Straight Perm™, Thermal Reconstruction, Japanese Hair Straightening,
Japanese Straightening, Ionic Retexturizing, Thermal Restructuring, Rebonding.

Q: Why is the old type of relaxers so damaging?
A:
These products leave the hair feeling like straw, looking dry, and the curl comes
Back after a (often short) period of time. Most traditional relaxers contain corrosive
ingredients such as Sodium Hydroxide, Potassium Hydroxide, Lithium Hydroxide, and
Calcium Hydroxide etc. These ingredients corrode the hair (melt the outer part of the
hair shaft to make the hair appear straight)

Q: Can I get thermal reconditioingdone if I have had my hair previously relaxed?
A:
You can safely switch to T.R.only by someone experienced, by doing the roots
only, and conditioning press the ends.

Q: When can I shampoo my hair?
A:
Do not shampoo for at least three days, as it is still getting accustomed to its new
shape.

Q:What if I want to go swimming can I use a bathing cap?
A:
No, swimming no moisture for a least 3 full days after, the process.

Q: Can I pull my hair back into a pony tail after the process?
A:
You must wait 72 hours, the hair behind your ears, metal clips, claws, etc.
Do not scrunch up your hair.

Q: Can I use hair products after the process?
A:
Do not put anything in your hair for 72 hours.

Q: Can some of the body be left in my hair?
A:
Yes.

Q: What kind of products can I use?
A:
Follow your stylist recommendations; nothing should be put on the hair for 72 hours.
Hydration is always important.
